  • Q1: How to use test probe 13
  • A:

    According to IEC 60335-1 Clause 8.1.3, appliances shall be constructed and enclosed so that there is adequate protection against accidental contact with live parts.


    Test probe 13 of IEC 61032 is applied without appreciable force through openings in class 0 appliances, class II appliances and class II constructions, except for those giving access to lamp caps and live parts in socket-outlets.


    The test probe is also applied through openings in earthed metal enclosures having a nonconductive coating such as enamel or lacquer.



    It shall not be possible to touch live parts with the test probe.


  • Q2: The Mechanical Strength Test for Information Technology Equipment
  • A:

    According to IEC 60950 standard, equipment shall have adequate mechanical strength and shall be so constructed that no hazard is created in the meaning of this standard when subjected to handling as may be expected.


    Compliance is checked by test as specified below :


    1 Steady force test, 10 N
    2 Steady force test, 30 N
    3 Steady force test, 250 N
    4 Steel ball impact test
    5 Drop test


  • Q3: What is tracking test for hand held motor operated electric tools?
  • A:

    In compliance with IEC 60745 clause 29.3, insulating material, accoss which a tracking path may occur, shall have adequate resistance to tracking ,taking into account the severity of its duty condition.



    For parts of insulating material used under servere duty conditions, the test voltage is 175V. If the specimen don’t withstand this test and there is no hazard other than fire, surrounding parts are subjected to the needle flame burner.


    For parts of insulating material used under extra servere duty conditions, the test voltage is 250V. If the specimen don’t withstand this test , but withstand the test made with a test voltage of 175V, and there is no hazard other than fire, surrounding parts are subjected to the needle flame burner.

     

    The proof tracking tester ZLT-LDQ1 made by Zhilitong Electromechanical Co., Ltd can carries out tracking test voltage at 175V and 250V , maximum up to 600V test voltage.


  • Q4: The Required Glow Wire Test Temperature for Internal Parts of Insulating Material for power transformers, power supplies,reactors and similar products
  • A:

    According to IEC 61558 clause 27.3.2 , internal parts of insulating materials retaining (keeping in position) current carrying parts in position shall be resistant to ignition and spread of fire.

    Compliance is checked by subjecting the parts of insulating materials to the glow wire tester with the temperature of the glow wire as follows:

    – 550 °C for internal insulating material not retaining (not keeping in position) current carrying parts in position


    – 650 °C for coil formers (bobbins)



    – 650 °C for parts retaining (keeping in position) current carrying parts in position and terminals for external conductors which carry a current up to 0,2 A during normal operation



    – 750 °C for parts retaining (keeping in position) current carrying parts in position and terminals for external conductors with fixed connection (e.g., soldering) which carry a current exceeding 0,2 A during normal operation



    – 850 °C for parts retaining (keeping in position) current carrying parts in position and terminals for external conductors with non fixed connection which carry a current exceeding 0,2 A during normal operation



    The Glow Wire Tester ZLT-GTR produced by Zhilitong Electromechanical Co., Ltd , can carry out glow wire test at temperature of 550 °C, 650 °C,750 °C and 850 °C.


  • Q5: The aim of mechanical strength testing for household electrical appliance
  • A:

    According to IEC60335-1 standard, appliances shall have adequate mechanical strength and be constructed to withstand such rough handling that may be expected in normal use, aiming to protect user’s safety and maintain the function of appliance.


    Compliance is checked by applying blows to the appliance in accordance with test Ehb of IEC 60068-2-75, the F22.50 Spring Hammer Impact Testing. After the test, the appliance shall show no damage that could impair compliance with this standard and compliance with 8.1, 15.1 and clause shall not be impaired as below:

    1. Appliance shall be constructed and enclosed so that there is adequate protection against accidental contact with live parts


    2. The enclosure of the appliance shall provide the degree of protection against water and moisture in accordance with the classification of the appliance

     

    3. Appliance shall be constructed so that the clearance , creepage distances and solid insulation are adequate to withstand the electrical stresses to which the appliance is liable to be subjected


    For accessible parts of solid insulation,it shall have sufficient strength to prevent penetration by sharp implements, compliance is checked by subjecting the insulation to scratching test set.

     

    The F22.50 Spring Hammer Impact Testing ZLT-CJ3 and Covering Scratch Test Machine ZLT-GC1 made by Zhilitong Electromechanical Co., Ltd, meet with above requirements of IEC60335-1 standard.
